Pathology is a precise diagnosis and study of diseases and the term pathology is derived from the Ancient Greek Pathos, which means suffering or feeling. Pathology addresses four components of diseases namely clinical manifestations, morphologic changes and pathogenesis. Pathology can be classified into different types like molecular pathology, plant pathology, psychopathology, veterinary pathology, forensic pathology, oral and maxillofacial pathology, hematopathology, dermatopathology, clinical pathology, anatomical pathology and general pathology.
On the other hand, bacteriology is the study of bacteria and this subdivision of microbiology involves the characterization, classification and identification of bacterial species.
